Annual Luncheon – Pensions Future: November 11, 2009 in Societeit De Witte in The
Hague.
Fifty NCCC members and their guests attended the Annual Luncheon to hear two distinguished keynote speakers who shared their vision on the future of Pensions in the Netherlands and in Canada. Furthermore they all enjoyed an excellent lunch at Sociëteit De Witte in Den Haag.
Professor Theo E. Nijman, F.Van Lanschot Chair and Professor of Econometrics and Investment Theory at Tilburg University, as well as chair of the Science Board of Pension Research Institute
Netspar, spoke on ‘the Dutch funded pension schemes key features and current policy discussions’.
Speaking on Canadian pension reform was Mr. Leo de Bever, CEO of Alberta Investment Management Corp. AIMCO is a Crown Corporation established by the
Government of Alberta to manage $75 billion of public sector financial assets, including the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund. De Bever was Chief Investment Officer of Victorian Funds Management Corp., one of Australia’s largest public sector pension funds, and has held senior posts with Manulife Financial and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in Toronto.
