On November 11, 2009 Mammoet received the prestigious Business of the Year 2009 award. The award is presented annually to a Dutch or Canadian company that has made an outstanding contribution to Dutch-Canadian business relations. The selection committee for the award is made up of the Board of Members of the Netherlands-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
When making the selection, the committee considers the extent to which a company contributes to Dutch-Canadian economic relations through investments or business activities, the long-term value of the commercial activity of the company in both countries, the scale of business activity worldwide, and its role as a model of corporate social responsibility. The award was presented by Mr. David McNamara, Senior Trade Commissioner, to Roderik van Seumeren, President and CEO of Mammoet Holding BV, at a ceremony in The Hague.
